Australian National Maritime Museum

It is absolutely fascinating to walk through the ships. I went on the destroyer and the submarine, the submarine was incredibly. Everything is so small and narrow and almost nowhere I could stand upright.

The entrance to the submarine through a torpedo reload hole on deck.

After i went through the hole I stood between torpedos.
Here a torpedo in front of the launching tube.

The gateway to the next section. The whole submarine has 4 on each level.
The access to another level was not allowed.

The periscope.

These diesel generators were used when the submarine was on the surface, and to recharge the batteries. It could stay underwater for more than six weeks, but it has to come to periscope depth periodically to get new air for crew.
