I tried to use my Swissbank account here in Sydney and it's ok, if you just like to get money from a ATM (Bankomat); also because, I pay no fee or commission for this with my Swissbank account.
The Problem, the code isn't working. Neither for the credit nor for maestro cards. So you always have to pay cash or to sign the receipt.
Accounts are free for students at the Commonwealth bank. You just need 500$ cash and the passport. The money will be used only for the setup and you can pick it up after the first night.

Three days after the opening, i got my debit (maestro) card. This one includes also a credit card but without a bill and direct charging.
Further two days later, i got my code.
The transfer, to send money from Switzerland to Australia, was charged by 20 sFr.

After the Motor Show, I took a drink at the top of the Sydney Tower at 360 Bar. A very beautiful view and the floor is rotating.

Australian International Motor Show

Compared with Geneva quite small, just one big hall. Aston Martin, Bentley, Bmw, Cadillac, Chevrolet, Chrysler, Ferrari, Opel, Saab, Seat, ... and many others were not there. The Ticket was 20$.

IMAX Sydney

After the aquarium, I went to the imax next to it, to watch Hubble 3D. It was absolutely exciting! The combination of cosmos, rocket launching, ... and 3D on such a large screen! Unbelievable! The description on the homepage isn't exaggerated.

Sydney Aquarium

The ticket for adults is 35$.
However, I bought a Unlimited Adventure Pass for 60$. It is valid until 6.2011 at Sydney Aquarium, Sydney Widlife World, Sydney Tower and Oceanworld Manly and include as many visits as you like.

Monorail

Monorail in Sydney City. There is just a short track. The Ticket is 4.90$ and is valid for one trip. I drove a whole round and got off at Darling Harbour.

I'm sick since about one week. It is always cold at night and the houses have no heating. So I went to a doctor. I had to pay 80$ for the visit. Then, 10 minutes later I was at the examination room. I got antibiotics and some other medicament's.
